Our educational institution teaches students a lot of courses(theorotical knowledge) but they don’t teach students money-making skills.
Recharge The Grads is the platform from where students got knowledge from which they become skillful under the supervision of an experienced team where every member is the domain expert of a particular skill and also has an industry experience to tell youngsters how to use your skills.
PLANNING:
Initially, we are working in the area of Freelancing and MS Word and decided to provide guidance and awareness about it and also giving basic knowledge about Freelancing and Microsoft word (editing, proofreading, and writing).
To achieve our goals, in the start, our circle had 3 to 4 meetings on planning about how to take the initial steps of awareness about freelancing and how to gather an audience for the sessions and what will be the content delivered in the sessions, a lot more about marketing our idea.
For example, through social media and also dropping individual messages to the fellows, friends, family members and convince them to attend the sessions. We decided that from 23rd September to 29 September, we will convince people for attending sessions, tell them about its advantages through many social media platforms, individuals struggle through networking for convincing them.
The most important decision, we took is to conduct free sessions for guidance about the basics of MS Word, which will help students and beginners to take the first step to become a freelancer.
EXECUTION OF THE PLAN:
In the first sessions, we provide awareness, guidance about the freelancing, its benefits, importance, and how to take the first step. The first session was held on 7-October-2020 and the Guest speaker was Sir Umair Umair, an industry expert and has an experience of six-years in the field of Freelancing.
The Second session aims are to educate the audience about the basics of MS Word. Sir Qasim was the Guest speaker, a CS Student, and has teaching experience.
CHALLENGES:
Problems faced during the mega-project First and foremost issue were to attract a handsome number of audiences to brief them about our idea and to engage them. The main issue we faced during sessions on freelancing and MS word/office that was planned on the 7th and 8th Oct. We successfully conducted a session on 7th Oct 2020 but there was a sudden blockage of signals of the mobile network on 8th Oct by the government… so we unable to conduct the session, our audience got scattered and dishearten to some extent because that was sudden and not in schedule …. So we hardly managed to console them as they invested their precious and worthy time, and we exclusively plan a session for 9th Oct that we could compensate for their loss of yesterday, though it hurt the trust of many people. Last but not least we successfully conducted the sessions but also we did the case study of participants during the question-answer session.
OUTCOMES:
1- Many university students and graduates were interested in freelancing.
2- They wanted to make their freelancer profile
3- Understanding through case study during sessions.
4- Detailed answer to queries.
IMPACT:
We were able to impact the people(a majority of them as students) of different cities as our circle members belong from different areas. Initially, we focus on two areas but later on, we expand this as a learning platform for more skills and take steps to bring a positive impact on the lives of people.
Initially, there was less support for this initiative, some people gave negative responses and did not pay attention to this but some of them realized the need for the society and become a supporter of our team and we are thankful for them for their support. We will continue our effort for the betterment of society and IN SHAA ALLAH we will able to impact the lives of people to a greater extent.
FUTURE GOALS:
In the future, our platform will provide opportunities for people to learn skills not only Freelancing and MS Word but all the skills even it is content writing, Graphic designing, digital marketing, and lots more to realized the need that you should have money-making skills along with your theoretical knowledge to sustain in this advanced technological world.
